World By Design

World by Design is a long-term design research and archiving project that examines the visual language of communication created in the daily lives of different countries and cities. Rather than focusing on tourist attractions or traditional travel content, the project centers on the graphic design elements people encounter every day. By documenting street signs, wayfinding systems, billboards, posters, storefronts, packaging, advertisements, typographic applications, and similar visual elements, the project examines the unique design character of each city. The examples collected as part of “World by Design” are not merely archived visually; they are also evaluated in terms of typography, color usage, composition, visual hierarchy, readability, and cultural context. This reveals how graphic design integrates with daily life in different regions and how local cultures are reflected in visual communication. The project’s primary goal is to bring together design approaches from different regions of the world under a single visual archive and to create a constantly growing source of observation, research, and inspiration for designers.
